CFD Simulation Of A Vertical Axis Wind Turbine

I used ANSYS Fluent to simulate a turbulent flow around a vertical axis wind turbine. Accordingly, I downloaded a 3D Model from GrabCad.com which was uploaded by Tanvir Sajib. From here on, I amended the geometry to suit the simulation. Unfortunately, I have the academic version of ANSYS and therefore I could only mesh the geometry with a maximum of 500,000 cells. Consequently, the very low mesh resolution left a detrimental impact on the simulation.

Tutorial

The CFD tutorial of the vertical axis wind turbine was completed in Fluent ANSYS where I used the RNG K Epsilon method to model the turbulent flow. Additionally, I activated the mesh motion option in the inner zone and assigned a rotational speed for the turbine.
